Prof. Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, a Professor of Health Education, is an indigene of Lagos Island, Lagos State. The new Vice Chancellor was born on 2nd February, 1972, on Lagos Island, Lagos State. She obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Health Education) from the University of Ibadan (2005), a Masters in Education (Health Education) from the University of Lagos (1999), a Bachelor of Science (PHE) from Lagos State University (1995), and a Diploma in Physical and Health Education from Lagos State University (1991).
She started her teaching career as a classroom teacher at Awori College, Ojo, Lagos State, in 1996. In 1997, Prof. Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye joined the service of Lagos State University as a lecturer in the Faculty of Education. She was later appointed the Provost, Adeniran Ogusanya College of Education, Ijanikin, until her appointment as the Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University of Education, Oto/Ijanikin.
