Dr Morufudeen Shittu obtained his primary School Education from Zumuratul Islamiyyah Primary School Epe, from 1973-1979. He obtained his Secondary school certificate from Ogunmodede College Papa, Epe, between 1979 to 1983.

Afterward, he progressed for the formal acquisition of Arabic and Islamic Studies Knowledge between 1983 and 1990 at the Daru Dawah College of Arabic & Islamic Studies Centre, Isolo, Lagos State.

He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees, both in the field of Arabic Language and Literature from Lagos State University in 1997 and 2005 respectively. However, he also acquired the Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in 2007 from Lagos State University.

In July 1999, he was appointed as an Assistant Lecturer in the Arabic Department of the defunct Micheal Otedola College of Primary Education and rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer in 2017.

He had his Doctorate degree in Arabic Curriculum in 2017 from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Malaysia (Sultan Idris University of Education, Malaysia) During his PhD. degree programme, apparently, in 2015, he audited post graduate Courses in Education and obtained a student Exchange Program Certificate from the International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM).

As a notable educationist, Dr. Morufudeen excellently earned himself admirable recognition within and outside the shore of the country, among which was the Excellence Award of the Best International Student which he earned during his PhD. degree.

While he served as a Lecturer in MOCPED, He was an Associate Lecturer for the Ekiti State University Arabic Programme for more than 13years

Dr.Morufudeen was promoted to the position of an Associate Professor Lagos State University of Education in the year 2022

In July, 2023, the Senate of Lagos State University of Education appointed him as the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the University.

Before his recent appointment, he was the former Deputy Provost of the defunct Micheal Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED) for a minimum of 2years.

Dr. Shittu has chaired several committees both in the defunct MOCPED as well as LASUED. He has also served as Dean of Student Affairs, Dean of School and Head of Department at various periods in his academic career.

He is a renowned Religious and academic scholar of International repute who has contributed immensely to the development of the society at large. He has tutored a large number of individuals are who currently making tremendous positive accomplishments in their respective pursuits.

Dr. Shittu has contributed into high-impact publications both locally and internationally. He has also attended both National and international Conferences on Arabic Language Education. However his research focus is on the Employability of Arabic Graduates in Nigeria.

Dr Morufudeen Adeniyi Shittu is married and blessed with children.
