BIOGRAPHY

Yinka Fagbile was born on the 28th of November 1979. He is an Assistant Lecturer, employed on the 14th of November 2022 in the Department of Theatre & Performing Arts of the Lagos State University of Education. He teaches Film Arts, Communication, and History of Theatre. He holds a B. A in Theatre Arts and an M.A in Linguistics and Communication Studies from the Lagos State University and the University of Calabar respectively. He is rounding up his doctoral programme at the Lagos State University, Ojo, with a research focus on transnational film practices of video-film streaming platforms in Nigeria.

Yinka holds a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Customer Relationship Management from the Institute of Customer Relationship Management (ICRM) affiliated with the Customer Service Institute of Canada and the USA, a Proficiency Certificate in Management from the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and a Certificate of Participation in Enterprise Creation and Leadership (ECL) of the Lagos State University of Education. He is a Course Facilitator for entrepreneurial courses organised as compulsory subjects for all undergraduate students by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Skills Development (DESD) of LASUED.

 

Yinka Fabile is a Laureate of the Lagos Studies Association and the British Academy Writing Retreat 2023 tagged “A View of the Future from Here”. He has also won the LSA/Karin Barber 2024 “Conventions of Creativity” Writing Workshop scheduled to take place in June 2024. He has attended conferences, trainings and participated in workshops. He is a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management and the Institute of Strategic Management Nigeria (ISMN) as a graduate and associate member respectively. His research interests include Transnational Cinema, Film/Media Arts, and the Creative Economy.
