qualified Candidates for the position of Principal, Lagos State University of
Education International Staff School, Oto-Ijanikin.
1.0 JOB DESCRIPTION
Such a person to be appointed as Principal shall be the Administrative and Academic Head of the School and shall be responsible, through the Governing Board, to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day running of the school.
The undermentioned responsibilities are also included:
2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinating and managing the administrative and financial affairs of the school.
2. Supervising and managing teaching and non-teaching staff for optimum work productivity and efficiency
3. Ensuring that the School is in accordance with its stated vision and mission
4. Formulating strategic policies and initiatives for the overall development of the school.
5. Liaising with relevant bodies and agencies for the educational development of the school
6. Administering the structural organisation of the school
7. Ensuring that the educational values of the school is given strict attention
8. Mandating the observance of the school’s rules and regulations by staff and students
9. Engaging with Parents and relevant stakeholders
10. Managing the school’s resources for the benefit of staff and student
3.0 REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
The Prospective Appointee must possess the following qualifications:
1. A good honours degree in Education-related discipline, not below Second Class Lower Division, from a reputable university.
2. A Master’s degree in any Education-related discipline; additional qualification will be an advantage
3. Membership of relevant professional bodies and associations
4. Membership of TRCN is mandatory
5. At least five (5) years post-qualification cognate experience
6. Applicable soft skills e.g. communication, teamwork, and leadership
7. Unblemished character and must be of high moral standard, including being a person of high integrity and ethical conduct.
8. Knowledge of ICT and evidence of use is required
