The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, on Friday, 12 December 2025, received the newly formed LASUED Cadet Officers in her office.
Professor Lafiaji-Okuneye commended the Cadet Officers for establishing a strong partnership with the University’s security personnel. She urged them to remain disciplined, upright, and committed to exemplary conduct at all times.
According to her, “The objective you have started with should not be eroded. Maintain a high level of integrity and shun all acts that may bring your families, the cadet corps, and the University into disrepute. Let people see you as individuals of integrity; this will make you excel in life.”
She, however, noted that all issues discussed during the visit would be given due consideration by the University Management.
In his remarks, the Dean, Students’ Affairs, LASUED, Dr. Dawodu Rasheed Adegbenro, expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and Management for their unwavering support for the University’s Cadet Officers. He explained that the visit was aimed at enabling the newly formed officers to familiarize themselves with the Vice-Chancellor and her Management team.
Similarly, the Commanding Officer, Bello Faisal, thanked the Vice-Chancellor and University Management for the immense support accorded to the Cadet Officers and appealed for continued and unflinching support.
Also present in the meeting were the Chief Security Officer, LASUED Major (rtd) Yishawu Paul, and the Deputy Registrar, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Mrs. Sami Omolara.
The highlight of the meeting was the honour conferred on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye as the Grand Patron of the Organization in recognition of her outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the organization.
