Balance Your Academic and Non-Academic Life, LASUED VC Advises LASU MSSN

The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Lagos State University (LASU) Chapter, on Friday, 12 December 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, at her office.

In her address, Professor Lafiaji-Okuneye expressed appreciation to the students for their physical and spiritual support. She encouraged them to remain steadfast in their faith, uphold good moral values, and continue to be worthy ambassadors of their institution and society at large. The Vice-Chancellor also cautioned the students against engaging in activities capable of jeopardising their academic pursuits.

She further advised them to maintain the discipline of well-trained individuals by striking a healthy balance between academic and non-academic engagements. According to her, students should also cultivate the habit of seeking parental advice and guidance when making decisions that may impact their present and future lives.

Speaking on behalf of the visiting team, the leader of the MSSN delegation, and  Amir expressed profound gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for the warm reception. He noted that the purpose of the visit was to appreciate her continuous support for the association and to draw inspiration from her wealth of experience as an educator and respected figure in society. He concluded by assuring that the motherly advice received during the visit would be cherished and upheld by the students.
