The ever progressive minded Management, Lagos State University of Education led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, on Tuesday 18th November, 2025 welcomed a delegation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Ojo, Badagry and Agbara (OBA) District Society, during a courtesy visit to the University.
The meeting, held in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, focused on consolidating and strengthening the existing partnership between the university and the ICAN body.
In her remarks, Professor Lafiaji-Okuneye reaffirmed the University’s commitment to sustaining and enhancing its relationship with ICAN for the benefit of both staff and students. She further assured the delegation that all issues discussed during the meeting would be given due consideration by the management.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Chairman of the ICAN Ojo, Badagry and Agbara District Society, Dr Femi Adesina, commended the Vice-Chancellor and her team for their continued support to ICAN, particularly the provision of LASUED facilities for the conduct of ICAN examinations. He also encouraged the University Management to motivate more staff members to participate in upcoming international conferences and other professional development programmes organized by ICAN.
Other notable individuals present and made vital contributions in the meeting were: the Deputy Vice-Chancellor [Administration], Prof. Shittu M.A., the Bursar, Mr Ganiu Ajose Adeniyi, the University Librarian, Prof. Imam Abayomi, the Assistant General Secretary, Mrs Dawodu Iyabode, and Mrs Ademiju Barakat, among others.
The session was concluded by a vote of thanks delivered by LASUED Registrar, Mr Akinfemiwa Opeoluwa.
