It was a thrilling display of sportsmanship as the Lagos State University of Education Nursery and Primary School (LINPS), Oto/Ijanikin, hosted its 13th Biennial Inter-House Sports Competition on Wednesday, 15th April, 2026 at the University Sports Ground.
Declaring the event open, the Head Teacher, Mrs. Folashade Momoh, welcomed parents, staff, and invited guests, emphasizing the importance of sports as a vital component of holistic child development. She noted that beyond competition, such activities help instill values of perseverance, unity, and fair play in young learners.
The occasion was graced by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Daodu M.A, who represented the Vice Chancellor, Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye. His presence highlighted the institution’s continued commitment to promoting a balanced educational experience that integrates academic excellence with co-curricular engagement.
Pupils from the various houses competed in a range of track and field events, demonstrating remarkable enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the competition. At the end of the keenly contested activities, Yellow House emerged as the overall winner with a total of 11 gold, 8 silver, and 5 bronze medals. Orange House secured second position with 8 gold, 6 silver, and 8 bronze medals, while Green House finished third with 5 gold, 2 silver, and 10 bronze medals. Blue House came fourth, recording 5 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
In her closing remarks, the Chairman of the Sports Committee, Mrs. Amos Itunuoluwa T., delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the school management, dignitaries, parents, and pupils for their collective contributions toward the success of the event.
The competition concluded with the presentation of medals and accolades, reinforcing the school’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded pupils through both academic and extracurricular excellence.
