The Lagos State University of Education International School (Epe Campus), formerly known as MOCPED International School, was established on October 10, 2011. Its vision is to be amongst the top 10 Schools in Nigeria and rank amongst the best 100 in the world, making it a preeminent SSchool.
The Lagos State University of Education International School (Main Campus, Oto/Ijanikin), formerly known as AOCOED International School, was established on October 6, 2003. Its vision is to produce students who have the demonstrable capability to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Applications are hereby requested from suitably qualified Candidates to fill the position of Principal at EACH of the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) International Schools, situated at the Oto/Ijanikin and Epe Campuses.
The person to be appointed as Principal shall be the Administrative and Academic Head of the School and shall be responsible, through the Governing Board, to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day running of the School. He/She shall also be in charge of the management, strategic growth, and planning of the School, including its entire administrative operations.
The specific responsibilities of the Principal for each of the Schools include, but are not limited to, the following:
Coordinating and managing the academic and administrative affairs of the School;
Supervising and directing teaching and non-teaching staff for optimum productivity and efficiency;
Ensuring that the operations of the School are in line with its stated vision and mission;
Formulating strategic policies and initiatives for the overall development of the School;
Liaising with relevant bodies and agencies to advance the educational development of the School;
Overseeing the organisational structure of the School;
Ensuring that the educational values of the School are consistently upheld by staff and students;
Ensuring compliance with the School’s rules and regulations by staff and students
Engaging with the parents forum and relevant stakeholders;
Managing the School’s resources efficiently and prudently for the benefit of staff and students; and
Any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Governing Board and the Vice Chancellor.
The Prospective Appointees must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
A good honours degree in Education-related discipline, not below Second Class Honours Lower Division, from a reputable university;
A Master’s degree in any Education-related discipline; an additional qualification will be an added advantage;
Membership of relevant professional bodies and associations;
Proven competence in strategic thinking, organizational development, and school administration;
Membership of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN);
At least seven (7) years post-qualification cognate experience
Applicable soft skills, e.g. communication, teamwork, and leadership;
An unblemished character with high moral standards, integrity and ethical conduct; and,
Proficiency in ICT with evidence of practical application in a School System, especially in the area of teaching and learning.
This is in line with what obtains in the Conditions of Service of the LASUED International School, or as may be determined and reviewed by the Governing Board of the School or the Governing Council of the University from time to time
Prospective Appointees shall hold office for a single term of five years.
