In another demonstration of genuine care for both staff and students, the dedicated Management of Lagos State University of Education, led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okunneye, on Tuesday, 21st July 2026, welcomed a delegation from the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) during a follow-up visit to the University's Oto/Ijanikin campus.
The visit aimed to review the implementation of the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme (Ilera Eko), discuss student enrolment, promote staff participation, and integrate the LASHMA portal link into the University's official website to improve access to information and services.
During the meeting held in her Office, the Vice Chancellor reaffirmed the University's commitment to supporting the Lagos State Government's health insurance policy. She assured the delegation that the University will continue to strengthen measures to facilitate student enrolment, encourage staff participation, and take other necessary steps to ensure the smooth and effective running of the initiative within the institution.
The LASHMA delegation, led by the Coordinator of Regulations, Mr Tosin Awosika, praised the University's efforts so far and engaged management in discussions on areas needing further attention to improve the scheme's implementation. The meeting also outlined practical steps for quick action, with the shared goal of enhancing access to quality healthcare for both staff and students of LASUED.
