The Management of Lagos State University of Education hosted the Executive Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area, Honourable Jimoh Olawale Salisu, in a visit centred on the Chairman's aim to sponsor vulnerable young individuals from his council to study at LASUED.
The Chairman committed to sponsoring these vulnerable young people on Tuesday, 21st July, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of LASUED, Prof. Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, along with members of the University management at the main campus in Oto/Ijanikin.
Welcoming the Chairman and his delegation, the Vice-Chancellor praised him for prioritising education and supporting young people in gaining access to university education.
According to Hon. Olawale Salisu, “My focus is to educate the youths of Apapa-Iganmu so that they can become great in the future. LASUED is the First Among the Best, and I want them to come to this University,” Hon. Salisu stated.
In response, Prof. Lafiaji-Okuneye described the initiative as commendable, stating that the young individuals would be considered for admission into LASUED and urging the Council Chairman to properly oversee the prospective students to ensure they stay focused and maintain good conduct.
She also assured the Chairman of the University’s support in facilitating the admission of eligible prospective students from Apapa-Igamu.
