Fine Arts

Creative and Entertainment Arts concern life and the expressions of the realities surrounding it. The course focuses on the concrete means of displaying the cultures, traditions and other aspects of man’s existence.  The B.A. Creative and Entertainment Arts programme is expected to impart the requisite knowledge to students in the theory and the practice of the arts of the stage, the mass media and communications.

The objectives of the course are:
  1. To equip students with a good knowledge of the main principles of the theory and practice of the Theatre Arts and Entertainment Arts.
  2. To train students in the Arts of the stage and creative insights.
  3. To prepare them for further studies in the discipline, or prepare them for relevant careers in the managerial cadres of administration, in teaching, in broadcasting for radio and television and in cultural arts centres.
  4. To acquire fluency in oral and written communication
  5. To develop ability to understand play texts
  6. To demonstrate ability to analyse drama and media contexts
  7. To develop competence in entertainment for all kinds of media
  8. To demonstrate liberty of mind, initiative in life and imaginative capabilities
  9. To develop ability to engage in independent research and aptitude for the use of ICT for entertainment endeavour
