2024 World Food Safety Day: LASUED Sensitizes Its Vendors On Food Safety

Lagos State University of Education on Friday 7th June, 2024 celebrated this year’s World Food Safety Day themed “Food Safety: Prepare for the Unexpected” The celebration was simultaneously celebrated in both Oto/Ijanikin and Epe campuses aimed at sensitizing the University’s food vendors generally on food safety.

The awareness of the theme was demonstrated in Oto/Ijanikin main campus by staffers of the Home Economics department and students of LASUED led by the Acting Dean, College of Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education [COVED], Dr. Beatrice Oganah-Ikujenyo who all participated in a rally that started at the entrance gate to the Vice Chancellor’s Office, Senior Staff Club and ended at Mammy market of the University in order to portray the essence of food safety.

In her address, Dr. Oganah sensitized the assembled University’s Food vendors on how to maintain a hygienic cooking environment and ways to properly processed foods against micro organisms so as to curb the unexpected.
